Rules & Format
A fair competition starts with a shared understanding.
University teams
Teams represent registered universities. All players must be current students. Each team registers 4–8 players. Universities verify player eligibility. Full name, nickname, student ID and national ID are required. Upload student identification for each player.
University ties
Each university tie is best of three doubles matches. The first university to win two matches wins the tie. At 2–0, the third match is not played. A player may participate in only one match per tie.
Match scoring
Matches are best of three sets. Sets are played to six games. At 6–6, play a tiebreak to seven points with a two-point margin. Star point is played after two deuces. Warm-up time is 10 minutes.
Rest periods
20 seconds between points; 90 seconds at changeovers; no changeover rest after the first game or during a tiebreak; 120 seconds between sets.
Winter Cup registration
Registration closes November 15, 2026. Entry is 14,000 EGP per team. Registering both men's and women's teams costs 28,000 EGP. Each division has its own roster and registration.
Student eligibility
Every player must provide valid student identification. This is the only player document required for registration. Documents are reviewed privately by authorized Element administrators.
Participation & cancellation
No cancellation or refund once the participation agreement is signed and payment has been completed, subject to applicable law and the final agreement.
Event-specific format
Winter Cup group-stage composition, qualification and knockout arrangements are pending administrator confirmation. Published tournament-specific rules take precedence for that event.
